Over a decade ago I (Lyndon Poskitt) took part in an expedition which set out to cross the empty western quarter of the Sahara Desert in order to reach the fabled salt mines of Taoudenni by motorcycle. It was my biggest expedition yet and required lots of planning, preparation and a decent sized team. An adventure I’ll remember forever as it was not only a challenge but it was the first ever time I had been involved in a video production.  Some might say that this is what kickstarted my ideas to film a travel documentary of my own, the fact is it definitely focussed my eyes on the Dakar Rally as a goal.
